I appreciate every beautiful set of eyes that take the times to read my clumsy thoughts. I appreciate the fact that you care. Or even that you’re curious.
It doesn’t matter. I just appreciate your presence here with me. It comforts me. Inspires me.
Compels me.
The fact that you stick with me as I fumble my way through this tangled journey … the way you stay patiently nearby as I learn the same painful lessons over and over and over again … it amazes me.
Thank you for that.
When something happens – whether horrible or hilarious – I have this nudge to tell you about it. I get that special feeling – that “heart squeeze” – telling me that this is important. And then I can’t NOT speak. God gives me no peace until I share it with you.
No peace.
Did you know that as these things are actually unfolding, the ideas are already forming in my mind for how I’m going to write about it? I can’t seem to turn this off. The words just flow in my mind.
And because of the way that “Growing Nurse Debi” works, I never have to find things to write about. I write when there’s something to say. God lets me know when it’s time to speak.
I appreciate the way our lives have been intertwined by our great God. He brought you here to me. Did you know that? At just the perfect time He led you right here. There’s nothing random about the fact that you’re reading this right now.
He wants us to learn from and with each other.
Grow closer to Him.
Share His hope.
Spread His joy.
Together.
So thank you. Thank you for reading. Thank you for praying. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for your continued encouragement.
“Growing Nurse Debi” truly IS growing – in both numbers AND insight. And it’s happening at God’s own beautifully steady pace, and in God’s own perfectly lovely way. And I’m so humbled that He’s brought you along for the journey.
Happy Thanksgiving and, as always … thanks for growing with me. ❤
“I thank my God every time I remember you. … And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:3, 9-11)
Precious Debi, Thank you for your Thanksgiving Day words, and how true they are. May we all get in the habit of practicing thankfulness (certainly not always easy!) seeing God’s presence and provision in all that we do and experience, and oh how blessed we are to have been called out of this darkness into His marvelous light. May we live in His light both now and throughout the ages to come. Oh how blessed we are to have been called out of this darkness into His marvelous light. May we live in His light both now and throughout the ages to come.
May the Lord bless you and your family this Thanksgiving. “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57

Oh how I would love that, my forever friend! I’m so thankful that God not only brought us together all those years ago, he continues to hold us together across the miles even to this day. How beautiful is that? ❤️
