On grabbing hold of some squiggly, wiggly joy.

You can call us crazy, if you want. It’s okay. You can shake your heads with that knowing smile at the chaos that’s certain to become our lives. We don’t mind. You can even think it’s way too soon after losing our sweet Cookie just a week before. That’s fine. We just disagree.

We think it was just in time.

Honestly, we had already been looking for a puppy to bring home when Cookie had her very sudden decline. The pieces all just finally fell into place in those very empty days right after we lost her.

So we grabbed hold of some squiggly, wiggly joy in the form of an 8-week old Shih Tzu named Beauregard (Beau). And, wow … has he ever brought some light and laughter back into our hearts. So healing.

And now we thank God for bringing this peeing, pooping, chewing-everything-in-sight, little squish of chaos into our lives at just the perfect time. God knew exactly what we needed, and He provided. Just as He always, always does. Praise Be.
