After basically 6 weeks in the hospital, Tommy’s finally home and healing. There are still some tough days ahead while God continues to knit him back together, but as of yesterday afternoon, he is finally free from that hospital bed, and back home resting in his own. What a beautiful, beautiful sight.

Thank you for your goodness, God.

I guess we’ll never really understand why the goodness of God would ever allow the ugly of cancer (or anything painful) into our lives, but after traveling this road He’s led us on, I can tell you right now that He has been right there with every, single one of us through it all.

And He’s sure not going anywhere now as He leads Tommy and all of us into the future.

My prayer is that you can know the comfort of this assurance – no matter what you’re facing today. Even those things we can’t possibly understand. Whatever it is, you’re not there alone.

Every millisecond of our lives has been planned through and with the promise of God’s love. All the unknowns staring us down today will be conquered with His presence, strength, and sovereign wisdom totally intact, sustaining us through it all. Today and on into the forever of eternity.

Never waste either your time or strength doubting any of this. That’s just exhausting.

Instead, be encouraged with this fact, my friends:

Our God is good. All the time.

Preach this to yourself over and over again.

It’s okay if you need reminding some days.

Our God is good. All the time.

Even when struggles invade.

Train your heart not to question it.

Our God is good. All the time.

Keep saying those words.

This is how you get stronger.

Our God is good. All the time.

Even when it all just hurts.

And you’re too tired to move.

Our God is good. All the time.

Even though your heart still groans.

Or you just can’t understand.

Our God is good. All the time.

Even when answers don’t come.

Or your heart breaks when they do.

Our God is good. All the time.

Even when it all seems pointless.

Your faith is now growing.

Our God is good. All the time.

This carries you through darkness.

Your heart finally overflows with assurance.

Our God is good. All the time.

You realize you doubt no more.

And now you can’t hold it in.

Our God is good. All the time. All the time, our God is good.

Focus on this truth until the day comes when you don’t have to work so hard to see His goodness. You’ll suddenly look around and realize that now you can’t NOT see it. God’s goodness is truly everywhere. In everything. All the time. No matter what.
