The house was still and silent, the room completely dark. I fumbled my way

over to the other side of the room and tapped the switch. Instantly beautiful light filled the room, dancing off the dazzle of pretties I’ve placed on the tree.

These words instantly permeated my thoughts and I knew my heart was being spoken to:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

No matter how I may feel tonight or how distracted I’ve become by this season’s … this world’s … busyness, this little nudge of Holy Love was exactly what I needed.
