Isn’t this beautiful? This is brand new life unfurling from my Australian Tree Fern. I found it this morning, and I have to admit – it excites me. This little guy will unwind and grow into a majestic frond that can be several feet long and wide. It will provide shade and protection for countless little creatures in my garden. Believe me, I will be watching this little guy grow into whatever it’s meant to become.
These little fiddleheads are both amazingly delicate, and tough as nails. They need a little protection, but not too much, or they will shrivel and die. They like to be watched, not fussed over. Admire them, appreciate them, but never try to help them unfurl.
Just watch and let it happen.
I just love new life – I love watching maturity unfold. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s a plant or a human being. The process is so artistic, and just so incredibly beautiful. Every step of the way is important. The good and the bad are equally essential to the process in order for true maturity to happen.
This new day is not just another day. No matter how you’re feeling, this is an important day. It’s full of purpose and new opportunities. New steps in our paths to maturity will happen today. Things may be easy today, or they may be painful. Everything may finally fall into place, or nothing may make any sense at all. But that’s okay.
Just like this little fiddlehead, our story will unfurl a bit today, as well. We don’t know what will happen, but we can know that the same amazing God designed both, and whatever is involved in our unfurling process, it’s from his loving heart and it’s exactly what we need to grow into what we’re meant to become. It’s all for our good, and His glory. Praise be.
Thanks for growing with me. ❤
